About Sifu David
Sifu David began his training in Kung-fu with Kitchener Kicks in March, 1985 and earned his black sash in June, 1999. He first started to assist teaching classes as a green sash. Since earning his black sash, he has been teaching mostly beginner classes for kids and some adults. Sifu David has also done some cross-training in Aikido and Kickboxing.
In May, 1994 Sifu David graduated from the University of Waterloo with a B.A. in History. Many years later, he went back to school and earned a M.Sc. in Education from Canisus College in Buffalo, New York. Sifu David is certified in First Aid and CPR and is currently taking on-line Coaching courses through the Coaching Association of Canada.
Sifu David has been attending Creekside Church in Waterloo and the Kitchener campuses for over 20 years. One of his favorite Bible verses is Romans 12:2: “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
Sifu David loves to travel. He has travelled to all 10 Canadian provinces and has set foot on 5 continents. Some of the places he has been to include: Ecuador, Egypt, and England.
