I started Kung-Fu for Christ 3 years ago and it has really changed my life.
It has made me more open to learning new things and taking opportunities, even if I’m hesitant. I have learned to be dedicated when I choose to do something, and not stop in the middle and set it aside. I also learned to take action when something is not right, to not be afraid to step up for what I believe is right. I have learned to value patience: sometimes it’s hard to understand that you have to keep going, even if you’re really struggling to do something.
At school, I show the leadership I have developed at Kung-Fu, and put it in practice by teaching others something they might not know. I have become more social and not afraid to step outside of my comfort zone when I talk to someone. I joined STORM because I wanted to take opportunities and I thought it might be a way to grow through my faith and leadership skills. Through STORM, I have learned to value teaching more, and discover that not everything is as easy as it seems. STORM shows me how to grow in my school life and understand things on a deeper level.
Since starting with my Dad, we have both found a warm and welcoming community where we have both made very good friends and family. I believe that Kung-Fu for Christ is not just a place where we can train and become better athletes, but also become better people, more connected to the community, and God.
