Thursdays: Kung-Fu Class For Children
Students are trained in Shaolin kung-fu techniques and forms on Thursdays from 7:00 PM until 8:00 PM. This class is for children ages 7 to 15.
Each class includes:
- time to socialize before class,
- a warm up,
- small group training in Shaolin kung-fu,
- a lesson connecting kung-fu with Biblical values such as respect, discipline, and perseverance, and
- after the children’s kung-fu class, children can participate in the Bible Reading Time class from 8:00 PM until 9:15 PM. Bible Reading Time is an optional class that allows the children to gather with their classmates and youth leaders to socialize over snacks, read Scripture, and build life-long friendships.
Throughout their training, students participate in gradings, tournaments, and seminars.

Skills Taught
Shaolin kung-fu techniques and forms that incorporate tiger, leopard, snake, crane, and dragon styles. As part of classes, students also participate in cardio, sparring, and self-defence activities.
Costs
There are no required fees to register or participate in this class. We accept voluntary donations to offset class costs.
Prerequisites
None.
What to bring
Gym clothes and a water bottle.
Dress code
Leave jewelry at home.
Impact
Through the program children’s class participants have:
- learned life-long skills such as improved focus and concentration, discipline, self-confidence, resilience, and kindness.

- had the opportunity to participate in hands-on community outreach activities including organizing food drives.
